About the club
Maisha Mothers Volleyball Club β a club, not a class.
MMVC is the official sporting arm of the Maisha Mothers Kenya Chapter. We carry a registered roster, club colours (maroon & gold), a coaching bench, and a fixture list against fellow members' clubs across East Africa. Every player is a mother. Every practice ends in chai. Every season ends at the Mama Cup.
Play, properly
Weekly coached sessions β drills, sets, full matches. From first-timers to former school first-team. Coaches who understand postpartum bodies.
Recover, knowingly
Pelvic-floor-aware conditioning, mobility, and on-call physiotherapy. We train like mothers, not like teenagers.
Belong, quietly
Post-match chai. Birthday rotations. Court-side counselling when a season is heavy. The team is the chapter.

The roster
36 mothers. Three cities. One quiet, fierce team.
From obstetricians who haven't held a ball since high school to a former national-league setter now raising twins β the roster is mixed on purpose. What you bring is showing up. What we bring is the room.
- Member-only kit β jersey, shorts, court shoes credit
- On-call team physiotherapist (postpartum-trained)
- Childcare corner at every Saturday session
- Quarterly friendly against fellow members' clubs
Annual tournament
The Mama Cup β Naivasha, every August.
One weekend. Lakeside courts. Six member teams from across East Africa. Children welcome, husbands optional, trophies serious. The closing dinner is the reason a lot of women apply.

βI hadn't run in three years. The first Tuesday I cried in my car afterwards β not from the pain, from being seen as a body again. Now I'm the one chasing the new ones onto the court.β
